Learn to surf Lanzarote

Our surf school in Lanzarote is regarded as being one of the very best beginner schools in Europe and uses the most up to date teaching methods available. The coaching is specifically aimed at those who have never surfed before. Also for those who have already taken some some lessons but feel they need to improve further in a safe but fun environment.

Each lesson is a full day, approx. 4h with an optional breaks to rest, picnic is taken at the beach. The groups are divided by ability and have low instructor to pupil ratios, typically 1/8 or less. As well as the beach drills and waterwork what makes this course so special is the overall view of surfing provided. Subjects, such as surfboard design, beach safety, weather and waves, surfing fitness, the rules of surfing, types of breaks, and many more are covered in our surf lessons. Our surf school uses the latest surf equipment including NSP, INT and Circle One softboards which are specifically designed for first time surfers, ease of use, stability and safety being the key factors. These boards come in many sizes and are chosen to suit your height and weight. As you progress you will have the opportunity to ride a more traditional surfboard from the extensive range of NSP/Circle One boards and NSP longboards. At the end of the course each pupil is assesed and presented with a Surfing Award scheme certificate. Every pupil has a different learning curve but with the right coaching you are guaranteed to be catching and riding your first waves and starting to make your first turns within a week!

Here in Learn to Surf Lanzarote we start the course the choose of surf wetsuits by thickness and size, surfboards and heading to Famara Beach.

Everything about surfing in Lanzarote and the classes you will be explained directly on the beach by the surf instructors, never in groups of more than 8 students in a lecture.
After several hours of surfing enjoy a picnic and an earned break in the sun.The vast majority of participants stands on the board first day of the course but we reccommend a minimum of 5 days course, to enjoy the waves on their own and without help.

The course includes transport to the beach, surfboard, wetsuit and clothing, picnic on the beach, liability and sport insurance.

Because of the distance, we do not offer a transport service from Playa Blanca.
