SURF SCHOOL AND BOARDRIDING TEAM
Surf School Lanzarote
The SURF SCHOOL was founded in 1996 and has been successfully
running surf camps ever since introducing people of all ages
to the sport from all over the world. This is a local school
run by local people and is the only one in Lanzarote that has
satisfied the requirements laid out by the tourist board to
become an official excursion.
Instructors
All the instructors are skilled watermen who have many years
experience surfing and coaching at different levels. They
have travelled extensively in search of that perfect wave,
have sampled many different cultures and have learned to respect
the ocean and environment we live in, for those reasons alone
they are perfect role models.
All have qualified as Lifeguards or equivalent in their respective
countries are multi-lingual and speak a good level of English.
They also have a keen interest in other board sports such
as kite surfing, snowboarding and skateboarding.
Guides
All our guides are skilled watermen who have many years experience
surfing in the Canary Islands and around the world. As the guides
are local and well respected in the water and local community
the only thing you need to fear in the water are the waves!
Coaching
Whether it’s your first time in the water or you want
to take your surfing to the next level they have the coaching
staff and techniques to help you achieve your goals. The school
maintains a low student to instructor ratio for safety and to
ensure you get the attention you need on dry land and in the
water. They also place you with an instructor who specializes
in teaching surfing at your level.
Equipment
All the equipment used is specifically designed for beginners
and intermediates with safety being the key factor. Beginners
will use foam boards by “Swell”. Theses boards are
designed for both stability and safety and the instructors will
select a board suitable for your size, weight and level. All
the equipment is checked and maintained on a regular basis to
ensure you have the best material at your disposal. The school
also provide a wide range of good quality wetsuits and rash
vests.
Safety
Safety is an important factor when participating in any sport
especially water sports. The school is constantly striving to
create a safe environment to learn in.
