In the evenings you can either stay and relax in the village
and sample some of the local tapas bars and restaurants. Just
remember you have to be up bright and early the next day fit
and ready to catch some waves!
The Capital and the Resorts
If you fancy a change from the village then most of the action
can be found in the main tourist resorts. In Puerto Del Carmen
the area along the Avenida de las
Playas or the city's Old Town is where it's at. In Costa Tequise
head for
the Avenida de las Islas Canarias.
If you want to sample the local culture check out the traditional
bodegas and tapas bars in the smaller towns and villages or
take in the nightlife hotspots in the
island's capital Arrecife. The best bars, discos and night
clubs are along
the calle Jose Antonio in the centre of town.
Bars are open all day, seven days a week until late. The
nightclubs and
music venues usually open around 11 pm and will stay open
until the last die
hard partygoer stumbles out to face the new day. Most do not
charge an entrance fee.
