SURF SCHOOL AND BOARDRIDING TEAM
Surf School FuerteventuraThe FUERTEVENTURA SURF SCHOOL is a BSA (British Surfing Association) recognised centre and have been teaching water sports for over 17 years. The school introduce people of all ages and from all over the world, to the art of surfing. Instructors
All the instructors are fully qualified BSA surf instructors who have many years experience surfing and coaching at different levels. They have travelled extensively in search of that perfect wave, have sampled many different cultures and have learned to respect the ocean and environment we live in, for those reasons alone they are perfect role models. All have qualified as Lifeguards.
GuidesAll our guides are professionals who have many years experience surfing in Fuerteventura, the Canary Islands and around the world. As the guides are local and well respected in the water and by the local community the only thing you need to fear in the water are the waves! Coaching
Whether it’s your first time in the water or you want to take your surfing to the next level they have the coaching staff and techniques to help you achieve your goals. The surf school maintains a low student to instructor ratio for safety and to ensure you get the attention you need on dry land and in the water. They also place you with an instructor who specializes in teaching surfing at your level. EquipmentAll the equipment used is specifically designed for beginners and intermediate surfers with safety being the key factor. Beginners will use boards by “Bic”. Theses are designed for both stability and safety and the instructors will select a board suitable for your size, weight and level (sizes are 7.3, 7.9 and 8.3). We can also offer the more experienced surfer a range of custom boards. All the equipment is checked and maintained on a regular basis to ensure you have the best material at your disposal. The surf school also provide a wide range of good quality wetsuits and rash vests.
SafetyYour safety is our prime concern, we offer the following surfing safety precautions:
Soft skinned surfboards are available for novices to use.
All surfing instructors are at least BSA Level I Accredited Coaches
(which includes an open water lifesaving qualification).
Trainee/Assistant coaches are supervised by an accredited instructor.
An Instructor is responsible for no more than 8 pupils in the water at any one time.
All surfboards have suitable leashes (ankle straps).
Instructors have a suitable life saving aid near at hand whilst pupils are in the water.
A first aid kit is available at the beach.
